Privacy Policy

FridgeChef is operated by FridgeChef (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use FridgeChef, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect little.

What we collect

• Fridge and pantry photos. Sent to our AI provider only to identify ingredients, for the duration of the request. We do not store your photos.
• Ingredient lists and recipes. We keep the ingredient list from each scan to count your free monthly scans and to prevent abuse. If you save recipes or build a meal plan (Pro), we store them in your account.
• Account data. If you create an account: your email address and a securely hashed password.
• Payment data. Payments are processed by Stripe through our payments provider. We never see or store your card number. We receive your subscription status.
• Usage analytics. We use cookie-free analytics that record anonymous events such as page views and “scan completed”. They do not use cookies or advertising identifiers and do not track you across websites.
• Abuse prevention. We store a salted, one-way hash of your IP address (not the address itself) alongside scans to limit misuse of the free plan.

Cookies

We use only functional, first-party cookies:

• fc_session keeps you logged in.
• fc_vid is a random id that counts free scans for visitors without an account.
• partner_ref is set only if you arrive through a partner’s link, so the partner can be credited.
• Our payments provider sets a cookie needed to complete checkout and remember your purchase.

We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, so we do not show a cookie banner.

How we use your data

• To provide the service: read photos, suggest recipes, save your recipes and plans.
• To run your account and subscription and to enforce plan limits.
• To credit partners who referred you (we share an internal customer number, never your email, with our partner program).
• To send essential service emails. We do not send marketing email without your consent.

Service providers

We use providers for hosting and database, AI processing, payments (Stripe), email delivery and our partner program. They process data only on our instructions. We do not sell your personal data.

Retention

Account data, saved recipes and meal plans are kept until you delete your account. Scan records are kept for up to 13 months. Photos are not stored.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to processing, by emailing support@fridgechef.bestresult.ai. We reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Children

FridgeChef is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update this page and the date above.
